February Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Tony Diguglielmo for being named February Athlete of the Month. Tony consistently pushes himself, he is fun to have in class (sometimes he shows us his dance moves mid workout), and he makes class more enjoyable for everyone there. Thank you Tony for making our gym a better place.

When did you become a member at Defiance West?

-Feb 2016

What made you join Defiance West and why do you do it now?

-A friend, Dana Jenick gave me a free month, So I gave it a try, and I'm hooked I really like how I feel after a workout.

What were your thoughts after your first workout?

-OMG I think I'm going to die, Did I just get hit by a truck!!?? I'm not sure this is for me.

What is your athletic background?

-Not much background, played some sports in grade school, was a ski instructor all through high school as Sunlight.

What is your favorite movement or workout?

-I like most all of the lifts, squats, cleans, dead lift. In general, I enjoy most everything we do.

What is your least favorite?

-overhead squats, super hard for me to do, feel like I'm going to fall on my face, oh and the assault bike, that thing can just wreck you.

What has been your favorite or proudest moment since joining?

-Knowing I'm getting stronger.

How has Defiance West changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?

-How I feel, it's as good for me mentally as well as physically, I'm definitely more aware of what and how I eat.

What are your fitness goals for this year?

-First of all I want to become more consistent with 3-4 days a week in the gym, and I want to make the 500 club. I don’t think I can do it this year but I want to make it.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

-I still own my very first car from when I was 16 years old. An old ford truck.

What advice would you give to people looking to get started at our gym?

-Stick with it, give it a chance, don’t let the first few workouts be the determining factor. It's hard and it hurts and you’re so sore you can't move, but it's worth it.
