March Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Chris Ziegler for being named the Athlete of the Month for March. Chris is hard working, humble, and very enjoyable to have in class. He joined us after an incredible weight loss journey of his own and has continued to improve in all areas at our gym. Sadly for us Chris is moving away for work, but whatever gym he ends up at will be lucky to have him.

  1. Please tell us about yourself. I was born in May of 1970 and grew up on a dairy farm in Kingman Kansas. I have two brothers and a sister. I started working in the oilfield after high school and working my way up. I moved to Colorado in 2005 and currently I am an account rep for Distribution Now.

  2. When did you become a member at Defiance West? September 2018

  3. What made you join Defiance West and why do you do it now? After losing a bunch of weight, I was looking to get in better physical condition and this was the only gym that offered a class that fit my schedule.

  4. What were your thoughts after your first workout? Someday this could be fun!

  5. What is your athletic background? High school football and basketball. Thousands of softball games and lots of recreational volleyball.

  7. What is your least favorite? Burpees and overhead squats.

  8. What has been your favorite or proudest moment since joining? A few months ago, we were building to heavy set of 3 on hang power cleans. Phil and I were working out together and we kept pushing each other and I went way past what I thought I was capable of.

  10. What are your fitness goals for this year? I would like to increase my flexibility and mobility along with getting better depth on my squats

  11. What is something most people don’t know about you? I like playing golf, I even hit a hole in one once.

  12. What advice would you give to people looking to get started at our gym? Just try it.
